Power Roller Conveyors

This category encompasses all of the driven roller styles of conveyor including line-shaft driven type (see separate section for Line-shaft), Chain Driven roller, and Belt under roller conveyors.

All of these conveyors are used in many applications where straight transport or change of direction is required, and also provide varying forms of buffer storage or accumulation of product.

Chain driven roller conveyors can provide extremely positive transport of product, but can also be adapted to give “low pressure” accumulation of product via the fitting of specially engineered friction clutches fitted into the body of the roller. Using this style of conveyor allows for goods to be transported, stored and released as required for further processing.

We now have newer drive methods for this conveyor that uses timing belt drive and micro-groove “V” belt drive in lieu of chain drive in certain specific applications.

Belt under roller conveyors also provide positive transport of product and can be built in long straight runs and also curved sections. They are an extremely quiet running conveyor and is virtually trouble free giving long operating life if maintained regularly.

Belt under roller conveyors are very adaptive as they can be designed to provide not only “low pressure” accumulation of product, but also full “Zero Pressure” (non-contact) accumulation where it is desirable for each product on the line to be accumulated without any adjacent product imparting line pressure onto it.

The “Zero Pressure” conveyor is built to provide many product zones that are controlled via sensors that detect products on the conveyor. Each zone acts independently of the adjacent zones on either side of it ensuring that only one product is stored in its respective zone on the conveyor.

This latter style of conveyor is the premium solution where a low maintenance trouble free storage (buffering) solution is needed allowing for buffering between manufacturing cells or marshalling prior to palletizing or dispatch functions.

Hi-Tech Accumulation is now also available in a unique driven roller conveyor style that uses independently driven Motor-rollers with inbuilt DC drives that connect to adjacent rollers within the zones using round belt, timing belt or Micro-Groove “V” belts. Control of these new styles is carried out using in-built PCB’s and can be hard system wired or connected to system controllers using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) or PC based controllers.

All of these systems are offered after consultation with our engineering staff.
